The ITME Fellowship is built on the foundational premise:
To understand Israel, the Palestinians, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, we must first understand the Middle East.
The ITME Fellowship is grounded in three educational pillars:
- Apolitical Middle East education
- Direct engagement with Middle East experts and voices that are often absent from Western discourse
- Intelligence-based tools to develop critical thinking and media literacy, which compliment Ambassador Skills to empower constructive communication
Instead of examining the Middle East through the lens of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the ITME Fellowship takes a fundamentally different approach. We begin with the Middle East, exploring its history, cultures, competing ideologies, and geopolitical dynamics to understand the region. Engaging with nuanced perspectives of the Middle East, Fellows garner a more contextualized understanding of Israel, the Palestinians, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
The combination of apolitical education, regional voices, critical thinking, media literacy tools and communication skills, Fellows become Ambassadors of Change – leaders who foster constructive conversations grounded in context, creative thinking, and authentic regional perspectives rather than slogans, polarization, or advocacy.
