Here are the slides and resources from today’s briefing with Avi Melamed, plus ways to keep learning and support our work.
THE PRESENTATION
KEEP LEARNING
TO UNDERSTAND ISRAEL,
WE MUST UNDERSTAND THE MIDDLE EAST.
Inside the Middle East provides apolitical, intelligence-based Middle East education, regional perspectives, critical thinking and media literacy.
Most approaches either advocate a position or teach through a Western lens. We bring people of different backgrounds and beliefs together with experts from the Arab and Muslim worlds, so they can understand Israel in the context of its region.
Apolitical Intelligence-based Regional
“The essence of education isn’t telling people what to think,
it’s empowering them how to think.”
Avi Melamed is a former Israeli intelligence official and Senior Advisor on Arab Affairs.
Fluent in Arabic, English and Hebrew, he draws on firsthand knowledge of the Arab and Muslim worlds.
He is the author of three books on the region, including Inside the Middle East:
Entering a New Era, and the creator and host of the docuseries The Seam Line.
