Israel’s War on Terror: Ep4 Hamas’ ‘tactical advantage’ could mean its destruction | TORONTO SUN – CANADA

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Former Israeli intelligence officer, Avi Melamed joined TORONTO Sun Canada | Israel’s War on Terror: Ep4 Hamas’ ‘tactical advantage’ could mean its destruction.

In episode 4 of The Sun’s new podcast ‘Israel’s War on Terror’, we take an expert deep dive into how the hostages taken by Hamas may not be the tactical advantage the terror group initially thought it would be. Over 240 Israelis were taken hostage in the October 7 terror attack on southern Israel but as Hamas attempts to hide them using its ‘Gaza Metro’ network of tunnels, could it actually be its undoing?

The Sun’s David Ross speaks with Avi Melamed, a former senior Israeli intelligence operative and official on Arab affairs. He explains his views on how the hostages may not help the terrorist group and how the Israel-Hamas war impacts Arab nations in the Middle East.

Melamed says many Arabic people actually condemn Hamas and know the terror organisation is responsible for the deaths of many Gazan civilians, despite what some Western media organisations may suggest.

We also spoke to IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Peter Lerner who discusses how key Hamas terrorists were hiding in the Jabalia camp when it was was struck by the Israeli military. Hamas is known to hide among the Gazan population using Palestinians as human shields and causing civilian casualties. Israel’s War on Terror, is a brand new podcast bringing the latest on what’s happening in the crisis and the context around it.
