In a world flooded with slogans, soundbites, and spin – we offer something different.
Authentic, apolitical non-partisan education about the Middle East.

We Educate through articles, briefings, books, courses, videos, and voices from the region.
We Equip individuals – students, educators, professionals, leaders…to think critically and ask better questions.
We Empower communities to replace soundbites with substance and polarization with perspective.

EDUCATE. EQUIP. EMPOWER.

It's not a slogan. It's a strategy.

Real-time educational experiences offering perspectives not covered in the Western dialogue—delivered in-person and online—and tailored for audiences of all backgrounds and knowledge levels.

Beyond live programs, ITME provides content, resources, and tools that help individuals and institutions build deeper knowledge and navigate Israel and the Middle East with greater clarity and confidence.

Our goal is not to tell people what to think—it’s to equip them with the tools to know how to think. Gaining the skills to: reduce polarization, communicate across political and ideological divides, approach difficult topics with greater confidence and context, lead more contextualized, nuanced, and productive conversations.

Inside The Middle East [ITME], is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) founded by Avi Melamed & Maia Hoffman.

In the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, the Arab-Israeli conflict exploded into the intifada - lethal and violent protests and riots throughout Israel. This was the most chaotic and dangerous period in the history of the modern city of Jerusalem.

Avi Melamed, a fourth-generation Jerusalemite Jew, former intelligence official, fluent Arab speaker and Middle East expert, is the host of The Seam Line.
As the Advisor on Arab Affairs to two Mayors of Jerusalem during the intifada, his mission was to rebuild relations between the Arab and Jewish communities in Jerusalem. His work put him in the epicenter of this deadly storm.

The Seam Line is not a historical documentary.
It is an invitation to join Avi Melamed on an insider's journey throughout Jerusalem.

" In my role as ADVISOR on ARAB AFFAIRS to two mayors of Jerusalem.
I found myself at the forefront during one of the most complex and violent chapters in the history of Jerusalem.
My mission…to restore trust between the Arab residents of Jerusalem and the authorities.
It was a unique opportunity to act in a mission of hope in times of despair, in a city that is a part of me and I am a part of."
